Punkin Center P-38

Situated just west of Hwy 71, a short distance north of Punkin Center, Colorado, is the 1943 crash site of a Peterson AAF P-38 (F-5 photo recon).

The ininital pedestrian survey was conducted on 10.06.07 by two AvAr field agents. While surface debris is minimal, a considerable number of smaller hits, along with one very large target mass, was registered with metal detectors. Colorado AvAr team members will schedule a return visit in the future.
